Fibromyalgi

Fibromyalgia is generally classified as a soft tissue musculoskeletal condition.

Fibromyalgia mainly affects women aged 25-30 years of age (female to male ratio is 5:1). It resembles chronic fatigue syndrome with both syndromes creating symptoms of chronic musculoskeletal pain, aching, stiffness, disturbed sleep, depression and fatigue.

While not all patients experience all symptoms, those with fibromyalgia have “peculiar” or an exaggerated sensation of the tenderness in specific areas of their body. The gentle manipulation used at the Ortman Clinic generally works well for fibromyalgia and is typically well tolerated. Along with treatment, nutrition counseling, exercise, sleep hygiene and stress control are important health issues that all need to be addressed.

The wholistic approach to health care at our clinic offers a balanced natural care for patients with fibromyalgia.
